Temple Israel of New Rochelle’s Chavaya (Religious School) program is looking for a few part-time educators to join our teaching team. We have a diverse, supportive, and team-oriented teaching staff. The program will run primarily in-person for the 2021-2022 year with certain groups meeting online for Hebrew. We are looking for educators for the following days and times:
• Shorasheem (1st & 2nd): Meets Sundays from 9:30am-12:00pm In-Person
• Nitzaneem (3rd & 4th): Meets Sundays 9:30am-12:00pm In-Person and Tuesdays online for Hebrew from 4:00-6:00pm
• Ahleem (5th & 6th): Meets Tuesdays online for Hebrew from 4:00-6:00pm and on Thursdays from 4:00-6:00pm in-person
The Judaic curriculum is created in partnership with the Director of Education and the educators. The Hebrew curriculum is Phonetic Hebrew Decoding. Creativity, comfort with technology, willingness to experiment and learn new things, ability to pivot, and being a team player is important! The program begins in mid-September 2021 and runs through mid-May 2022.
